The MEQ-5 AUv3 plug-in is available as a time-limited Demo version for users to experience. It offers 5 minutes of free playtime which can be reloaded as desired to extend the Demo period. The full version of the MEQ-5 AUv3 plug-in is accessible through an In-App Purchase.

The MEQ-5 is inspired by the Classic Mid-Range Equalizer from the '70s, featuring two bands of midrange boost and one band of midrange dip. It excels in enhancing the sonic potential of the "power region" crucial for guitars and vocals to stand out in a mix.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Standalone and AUv3 Plug-in format
  • Vintage Equalizer modeling
  • Low-midrange peak Boost: 200, 300, 500, 700, 1000 Hz
  • High-midrange peak Boost: 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 kHz
  • Dip Atten: 200, 300, 500, 700 Hz and 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 kHz
  • Analog Saturation toggle
  • Undo/Redo functionality
  • A/B comparison feature
  • 2x/4x/8x Upsampling options

The MEQ-5 empowers precise manipulation of the "power region" within audio material — the critical frequency range from approximately 300 Hz to 5000 Hz where most sound energy resides. Its three independent control sets enable simultaneous boosting and dipping across multiple targeted frequencies to achieve custom tonal shaping.

The HLF-3C adds functionality to the Passive EQ Collection with its low and high cut filters offering a gentle and retro tonal sculpting effect or specialty sound blending reminiscent of past eras without signal loss typically associated with passive hardware units.

This plug-in allows users to effortlessly remove unwanted frequencies from individual instruments or sub-groups while maintaining musical integrity within the overall mix.

Originally designed as true passive hardware with no amplifiers or external power requirements resulting in signal loss, the RRS HLF-3C plug-in software compensates for this inherent limitation by providing unity gain upon insertion.

The HLF-3C's interface is user-friendly with only three controls:

  • Enable: Bypass control toggle switch for comparing processed signal to original input
  • Low Cut: Rotary switch for selecting low cut filter frequency from ten options ranging from 50 to 2000 CPS
  • High Cut: Rotary switch for selecting high cut filter frequency from ten options ranging from 1.5 to 15 KCS

Pairing the midrange MEQ-5 with the Passive Filter HLF-3C and broadband EQP-1A creates a comprehensive vintage EQ chain for a full spectrum of audio manipulation possibilities.

To utilize MEQ-5 as a plug-in, an AUv3-compatible host application such as GarageBand, Auria Pro, AUM, Cubasis, or similar platforms is required. The MEQ-5 will be accessible under the Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins within the chosen host software.
